Wombat and Activities
- Details
- Tuesday, 16 June 2009
The Wombat is our café, our office, our living room and more. The small door in the basement at Warande 89s leads to a nice place where you can find other students who are living at the Warande, both Dutch and International.
Wombat @ Thursdays
The Wombat is open every Thursdaynight between 21.00h and 01.00h. You can go there just for a drink or join the activities. Cheap, fun and closer to home than anything else :-)
Activities
We organise activities for all Warande residents. What can you expect? Boardgames, an international night for students from abroad, cocktail party, pokernight, etc. Check the posters, e-mail or the calendar for more info on this months events.
Other uses
The wombat is from our residents association. We also have our 'office' here. Volunteers work in Warande 89s on this website or on other Warande-related stuff. Once a year there's a general meeting for all members in Warande 89s.
History
The Wombat story began more than a decade ago. Some friends thought it could be a great meetingplace for them and other people from the Warande. The place was called Wombat because this is a little creature that lives in an underground burrow. After some serious redecoration they opened in 2000. Over the years the place became more popular on the Warande. In 2008 the place was redecorated again.
Football
Two or three times a week, residents of the Warande play a game of football on a field nearby. Interested? Add yourself to the Warande Voetbal Facebook Group, or send an email to
